The Pajero Club of South Australia hit the trails on Sunday, August 10th, for a fantastic social day at the Adelaide Hills 4WD Park. With a mix of 6 Pajeros, a Navara, and a brand new BYD Shark, it was a great turnout for a day of exploring and camaraderie.

Despite recent rainfall, the weather was on our side, with clear skies and sunshine making for a perfect day. The previous days’ rain did leave the tracks nice and muddy in spots, adding an extra layer of challenge and fun to the trip. The group explored a wide variety of the park’s tracks, steering clear of the extreme ones but still tackling plenty of challenging terrain.
It wouldn’t be a 4WD trip without a few memorable moments! Dan had an interesting encounter with a large rock, which forced his side step backwards and against his rear wheel. With Rod’s quick thinking and use of his winch we pulled the step back into place, proving the value of carrying the right recovery gear. Meanwhile, Luke almost took an impromptu mud bath while trying to check the depth of a puddle—a classic rookie mistake we’ve all been guilty of! And in a moment of true theatricality, Rod’s high-lift jack decided to become an “angled jack,” giving everyone a good laugh.
The biggest delay of the day came when the group patiently waited for another club to recover their vehicle, which had become well and truly stuck in the mud. It was a good reminder of how important it is to be prepared and how easily things can go wrong.

Overall, the day was a huge success. Everyone had a great time, no major damage was done, and the variety of vehicles in attendance highlighted the club’s welcoming nature. The photos and videos from the day will be added soon, so keep an eye out for them to relive the muddy fun!
A big thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fantastic social trip. We look forward to seeing you all on the next adventure!
